Things that I get up to...
11th March 2002
Heather Nova played at Astoria. It was the first time I saw her live. She was absolutely great. The evening passed so quickly. It was a bit of a strange experience though.
It was supposed to be all standing up but there were a few seats and tables. We managed to get seats on the upper level at the front. There were people around us having hotdogs and drinks, and people were smoking in the theatre as well. So it was nothing I'd seen before.
Despite all that, she was fantastic and the band was very good too. She sang most of my favourites with the exception of Avalanche and Widescreen. I would definitely go to see her live again.
24th February 2002
We had Zeki's 'Welcome to the World' party. It was a wonderful day altogether. We had family and close friends over to celebrate Zeki's very first birthday.
Zeki enjoyed the day immensely. He got so many nice presents. It was lovely to see that everyone made the effort to come to the party. We will always remember this day and I'm glad we've got some pictures to show Zeki when he is old enough to appreciate them.
2nd February 2002
Went to see Melissa Etheridge at the Dominion Theatre. It was awesome! After being a fan for over 10 years it was fantastic to see her live for the first time.
When I discovered there was not going to be a band, I was very worried as I never thought her songs could be played solo. But when she came on and started singing it was absolutely fantastic.
I managed to take couple of photos and this here on the right was the best one. After the show we went to the stage door in the hope that we could get an autograph but after waiting for about half an hour she came out, got in the car and left, which was a little disappointing.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to see her again in the near future, perhaps this time with a band.
